Alentejo town, home to a mainly agricultural county, framed by the majestic Alentejo plains and blue Alqueva Dam, Reguengos de Monsaraz is primarily famous for the quality of wine produced in this region.
The surrounding nature is the biggest gimmick of Reguengos de Monsaraz, with the peace of mind characteristic of Alentejo, there are nevertheless many points of interest in this beautiful region, such as St. Anthony's Church (the nineteenth century in Gothic style), or the Herdade do Esporão (Old manor house to the Mendes de Vasconcelos (sec. XVI) on the Herdade do Esporão largest and oldest defense in the region of Évora with its current boundaries established in the thirteenth century and all the megalithic heritage found throughout the county.
Region of well-maintained and cherished traditions, is also known for the quality of their craftsmanship nationally recognized, as is the case of São Pedro do Corval pottery, the first pottery center of the country and the famed manufacture of Reguengos blankets, dating from the very origins of the village.
The surrounding vineyards produce famous wines of great quality such as Adega Vidigueira, though the tradition of the vineyard and the wine has just emerged from the nineteenth century.
