Barrancos
Barrancos, located near the border, has a great cultural connection to Spain and among the oldest there is a dialect that mixes Spanish and Portuguese and is the only place in Portugal where it is legal to kill the bull during the bullfight.

The region where the municipality of Barrancos is located was conquered to the Moors in 1167 by Gonçalo Maia being populated from the year 1200 by order of S. Sancho I.

Noudar preserves, however, its beautiful castle surrounded by the river Ardila that ripples through the surrounding landscape. In this region, however, the Nature Park of Noudar was created and Herdade da Coitadinha was recovered under the intervention of EDIA, one of the counterparts in the construction of the Alqueva Dam. Noudar park is a beautiful place, almost untouched by man, and has in its fauna and the natural landscape its greatest attributes. It is a place not to miss on a visit to the municipality of Barrancos.
