
Classified as a national monument, the Historical Center of Castelo de Vide is a real "legacy" of Alentejo. This set consists of a medieval town and Jewry, of winding alleys and sidewalks, surrounded by 2.5 km of walls from which imense landscapes can be seen.
The construction of the castle was ordered by King D. Dinis, yet only finished during the reign of his successor, D. Afonso IV in 1327.
Worth pointing out the oldest chapel of Castelo de Vide, dated from the XIII centuryand a synagogue from the XIV century.
